Scope

Located within historic Old Town Alexandria, Chatham Square replaced two blocks of dilapidated World War II-era housing with a mix of market-rate townhomes and public housing units. Two new private streets ease passage through the site, with specialty paving serving as a traffic-calming device. Parking is completely below grade, maintaining the grid pattern of the urban streetscape. Brick and iron detailing throughout complements the area’s historic architecture.
