GW Conservation Center
03.05.2013
GW needed a new building on their Virginia Science & Technology Campus to provide a research center for their students but also provide a secure location to store numerous artifacts the university has accumulated over the years. STUDIO39 has worked with the project team to design the perimeter landscape around the building as well as the exterior courtyard at the entrance to the building. The design incorporates numerous sculptural berms planted with native grasses as the accent piece to the front entrance to the building. There are overlapping paving lines to enhance the experience as well. Towards the rear parking lot, there is a raised amphitheater seating wall and a large rain garden for students to sit in an outdoor classroom environment.
This project is currently under construction.
