Ginger Beach! Gingertown DC 2015
12.07.2015
Last week a team from STUDIO39 took part in the 10th anniversary of the annual Gingertown DC event! To celebrate this exciting anniversary, this year’s theme was Ginger Beach!
Our team was responsible for building the park area of Ginger Beach and a home adjacent to the park.
In 2006 David M. Schwarz Architects founded Gingertown by creating a one-of-a-kind holiday initiative that brings together the leading architects, engineers, and contractors in the D.C. area, along with building enthusiasts, to create a town made completely out of ginger bread. Best of all, its all of a good cause.
The structures are donated and put on display at local hospitals, health care facilities, and community support organizations to help spread the message of joy and hope during the holidays. 100% of all funds raised are donated directly to the recipient organizations which are: Children’s National Medical Center, Deanwood Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, So Others Might Eat, The Washington Home, and The Wendt Center for Loss & Healing.
STUDIO39 is proud to have taken part in such a charitable event that was a great time!
