DCBIA Community Improvement Day

STUDIO39 joined DCBIA and over 500 volunteers for their 19th Annual Community Improvement Day on Saturday, October 1, 2011. This year the project was an extreme makeover of the Marvin Gaye Recreation Center in Ward 7 of Washington, DC. STUDIO39 participated in a design charrette as well as volunteering on site the day of the event. The focus of the improvements was having more flexible space within the building, space for outdoor activities, a more pleasing way to enter the building and more signage and connectivity within the park.
